Skills development is a key driver for the Group
As a responsible employer, EDF works to ensure that its employees achieve successful careers that contribute fully to the company's business plan. The company has always placed great emphasis on training its employees with the aim of supporting career paths, social mobility and career change, preparing for the jobs of the future, and ensuring the employability of personnel. Every year, nearly 85% of EDF SA employees receive training, thereby enabling the company to maintain the professional excellence and performance of its teams.

Strategy
The EDF Group has always considered skills development to be a strategic advantage for the successful delivery of its industrial project underpinning operational and economic performance, the nuclear safety of its generating fleet, and the safety and mobility of its employees. Today, changing energy models, the creation of new services, the digital transition, and the progress of artificial intelligence, are all leading to unprecedented changes in the professions within the Group. This transformation makes it all the more essential to sustain a high level of investment in training and professional development, in order to ensure what will now be a continuous adaptation of the skills that are vital to the specialisms and subsidiaires of the Group.
Commitment
In 2018, the company reiterated its commitment with the signing of a new global corporate social responsibility agreement, incorporating new social requirements in line with the company's public service values. More generally, this agreement promotes human rights, diversity, health and safety, skills development, and social protection for employees and subcontractors wherever the Group is operating, as well as the concept of an equitable transition to ecologically sustainable economies.
Transformation
- In the last 5 years, EDF has begun the digitalisation of its training courses, many of which are available online on our LMS (Learning Management System). In 2020, we devoted 4.1 million hours to training, almost a quarter of which was digitalised and freely available. The Covid-19 health crisis speeded up this transformation by incorporating digital technology into every one of our courses.
