High Power Lab: successful test on a 363 kV/63 kA circuit breaker

EDF Power Networks Lab has successfully performed qualification tests on a 363kV/63kA GIS circuit breaker with our High Power Laboratory. Designed by Electroapparat, a Russian company with 40 years of GIS manufacturing experience, this apparatus successfully faced inductive and capacitive current switching tests according to IEC 62271-100 and IEC 62271-110 in order to verify the circuit breaker design. This device is intended for the Russian network grid.
