The Welding Materials Engineer contributes to the control of the manufacturing of large components for nuclear power plants in France and abroad.

This job is a great opportunity for an engineer wishing to participate in industrial challenges, in direct contact with manufacturers and industrialists.

It involves regular exchanges (manufacturers, suppliers, laboratories) and close collaboration with the plant operator and other EDF engineering centers.

Daily tasks

  • Ensuring the reliability of manufacturing activities by contributing to the development of manufacturing processes, in particular welding procedures, in compliance with standards, regulations and contractual material specifications.
  • Establishing technical requirements for equipment manufacturing.
  • Analyzing technical offers, evaluating suppliers and their subcontractors.
  • Validating the manufacturing documentation.
  • Handling discrepancies and supplier deviation requests.
  • Contributing to technology watch and industrial development of innovative processes.
  • Controlling the qualification of manufactured equipment under accident conditions.
  • Working as a team with in-factory supervision activities.
  • Participating in the development of EDF's Industrial Policy.

Education

Engineering school or general Master’s degree, with a specialization in mechanical engineering, metallurgy, welding or materials. If necessary, additional training will be provided during the first year on the job.

Remuneration

From €47K to €65K (gross annual package) depending on diploma and professional experience (including social benefits and individual and collective variable remuneration). Additional benefits (works council, on-call allowances, etc.) can also be added to the overall remuneration package.
