Travelling by bike or electric motorcycle is a way of reducing your carbon footprint and limiting pollution. But for commuters, who undertake long journeys on public transport in their millions to get to work every day, it isn’t always easy to take these vehicles with them. The creators of Stigo, who are from Estonia, have found the solution: an electric scooter that folds in just 2 seconds and can be carried anywhere with its (almost) feather-light weight of just 13.5 kg. Its 250 W motor gives it a maximum speed of 25 km/h, and to top it all off, it charges using a normal electrical socket.

The winning project in the ‘Mobility’ category at the 2014 EDF Pulse Awards, Stigo paves the way for a more flexible and more eco-friendly method of transport. The scooter has already found its market. Since 2015, it’s been available for sale all over the world, and could soon become a common sight on your daily commute!
