Agrivoltaism and the new types of solar panels
PV
The development of technologies aimed at increasing the share of renewables in the energy mix is a major concern for the EDF Group.
PV (photovoltaics) is one of the main research areas. Indeed, EDF R&D is working on optimising panels and integrating them into various growing environments.

Vitisolar
R&D is working to meet EDF’s solar energy targets. In partnership with EDF Renewables and the Direction à l’Action Régionale Nouvelle-Aquitaine and its partners, it is developing an innovative PV project called Vitisolar. Vitisolar consists of installing an elevated structure that covers a plot of 2,000 m2 of vineyard.

Agri-PV : squash and electricity
This year, researchers and the vegetable growers we work with harvested 1,200 kg of squash, a share of the spoils of this win-win situation and a lot of soup!
