EDF and EP Energy complete the transaction for the sale of 95.6% of Budapesti Eromu Zrt. (BERT)

On 10 December 2015, France-based EDF International (EDF) and EP Energy, a.s., through its subsidiary company EP Hungary, have completed the transaction for the sale of EDF’s majority stake in Hungary-based Budapesti Erőmű Zrt.

EP Energy has acquired more than 95% of the shares in a company that owns three gas-fired cogeneration (combined heat & power) plants: Kelenföld (with an installed capacity of 188 MWe and 395 MWth), Újpest (105 MWe and 421 MWth) and Kispest (113 MWe and 366 MWth). These CHP plants meet almost 60% of the demand for heat in Budapest and generate approximately 3% of Hungarian electricity.

EP Energy is a member of the EPH Group.

EDF and Macquarie complete the transaction for the sale of 25% of Energie Steiermark AG (ESTAG)

EDF and Macquarie European Infrastructure Fund IV (MEIF4) have completed on December 21st, 2015 the transaction for the sale of EDF's minority stake of 25% in Energie Steiermark AG to MEIF4. EDF announced on July 10th 2015 it had entered into an agreement with MEIF4.

The closing of these two transactions, which were announced mid 2015, follows the fulfillment of all condition precedents.
