The objective was to determine the resistance and electrical limits of the catenary messenger wire (a cable contributing to the train’s electrical power supply).
The tests were conducted at our outdoor test facility, evaluating the cable’s performance under near-realistic conditions, subjected to severe electrical stresses such as electrical arcing that may occur in tunnels or under bridges. These tests allowed the client to assess their equipment up to the extreme constraints that may be encountered on their network—and even beyond.
Our customer could attend the tests campaign and expressed his satisfaction for the proficiency of our testing teams. Additional mechanical stress tests will be performed on the equipment recovered after the tests.
