Short circuit tests on a power transformer for KOLEKTOR ETRA.

In May 2023, EDF POWER NETWORKS LAB teams responded to a request from transformer manufacturer KOLEKTOR ETRA by carrying out dynamic short-circuit withstand tests on a three-phase 227/21kV 70 MVA power transformer weighing 86 tonnes. The tests were undertaken to assess the transformer's resistance to intense short-circuit conditions.

The customer was satisfied with the success of the tests, and particularly with an impedance variation before and after the tests of less than 0.1%.
